A moment to remember your Halloween
day!
The hero who saved the moon from drowning !

One night Hodja (Arabian folktale hero) went to his well to fill
his water jug. He saw the reflection of the moon in it, and thought,
"Oh no! The moon has fallen into the well! How will people
see at night? The stars aren’t bright enough. Hmmm.. let me
think of some way to get it back into the sky where it belongs."
Then Hodja rushed to get his fishing pole. Then he let down his
line and hook and began to fish for the moon. At last his hook got
stuck on the side of the well, and he shouted, "I’ve
got you now! Don’t you worry moon, you’ll soon be back
in the sky."
Then he pulled and pulled until finally … up came the hook
… and down went Hodja. He landed on his head and was knocked
out cold.
When he woke up, he lay there on his back, holding his sore head
and rubbing his bruises. But when he finally opened his eyes, he
looked up and noticed that the moon was back up in the sky! He forgot
about his aches and pains.
"What a relief!" he called
up to the moon. "It wasn’t easy, but thank goodness I
was able to put you back where you belong!"
Hodja then went to sleep that night
with a smile on his face.
From that day on, he thought of himself
as the hero who saved the moon from drowning !
