What is buzzing in Consumer Electronics?

Get ready for the new gadgets!

2013 Consumer Electronics Show gave a glimpse of the gadgets and devices which are ready to be released into the mainstream this year. There are improvements to TVs (Ultra HDTV), laptops (touch laptops, laptop-tablet hybrid), tablets (4K 19 inch), game stations (Nvidia and Others) and other commonly used devices.

Here we have picked some items which you are going to hear soon in various marketing campaigns.

Are you ready for the new wave of electronics?

8K TV screens and even 16K Theatre screens are being discussed as upcoming feature.

LG OLED TV

Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) or Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED TV)

OLED HDTV's strength is colors. This is possible due to the pitch black background it can create with OLED crystals. All the colors displayed against this black background looks vivid. This model supports ultra-wide viewing angles and fast motion rate. The fast motion rate makes watching sports a breeze. As OLED uses liquid crystals, the display is malleable. Now you can have curved TV and TV on a Easel. Samsung and LG already have displayed such models at this year's show.

LG's 55 inch model is priced at $12,000.

4K TV

4K (4000 pixels width/2000 pixels deep) TV

4K TV's strength is sharpness. There are four times as many pixels packed into the display as there are on a 1080p set, so you can see more granular detail than you can on a 1080p HDTV. Before getting impressed, just remember that 4K TV needs 4K input source (DVDs, Cable Streams). The existing Blue ray quality is not capable of leveraging the 4K resolution.

Sony's 84-inch Bravia XBR-84X900 is on sale now for just $25,000, while LG's 84-inch 84LM9600 is a comparative steal at a mere $20,000.

You also now have an option of having both the above features in a TV. The best of both worlds - vivid color and extreme sharpeness.

The prices for such hybrid model is yet to be announced. Do not expect anything less than $20000+.

Now your watch can not only tell time but also remind about birthdays, to-do tasks and receive caller ID, e-mails, calendar alerts, Facebook messages, Twitter messages and weather alerts. And here is the icing on the cake: it costs just $115.

Tobii Rex Windows 8

How will you like it if your computer can respond to your gestures (as it is happening in game stations like Wii and XBox Live). Your wishes are fulfilled. Tobii Rex has released a sensor which leverages the Eye-tracking technology. With this sensor, you can move up or down on a browser with a mere eye movement and a simple key! Hmmm.. we need another gadget to then burn our retained calories.
