US
experienced one of the worst Meningitis outbreak this month.
As of this publishing, US Centers for Disease Control confirmed
the presence of 338 cases (331 cases of Fungal Meningitis
and 7 cases of joint infections) and 25 deaths. The outbreak
has been linked to contaminated vials of an injectable steroid
(methylprednisolone acetate) which is used to treat back and
joint pain.
