Traditionally tamil songs are considered to be folksy until AR Rahman came into the industry. Even though people followed Rahman's fusion style of music, the appetite for folk song stayed around. Folk song got a new emphasis when Ilaiyaraja entered into the industry with his "Machana Parthingala". From that time, he has composed almost all type of folk songs one can imagine. However, in order to keep it fair, we have picked songs across all composers including folk album artists such as Vijayalakshmi Navaneethakrishnan, Pushpavanam Kuppusamy, Anita Kuppusamy, Gana Ulaganathan and others. Unfortunately, almost all the current folk songs are picturized questionably or embarassingly. This is definitely alienating a set of future generation from following this wealth of music. Hope the Tamil film directors realize this need. For this edition, we have picked clean videos among what we reviewed. 	Album: Chithiram Pesuthadi Song: Vala meenikum Vilangu meenikum...	The 'gana' song which propelled the career of gana Ulaganathan and the profit for the movie. Mysskin, the director has made it a pattern to have one gana type song in each of his movie after this (except Nandalala).
	Album: Kadhalil Vizhunden Song: Nakka Mukka...	The 'pace' (and the meaningless lyric) of this Vijay Anthony's song took every one by surprise. It became so popular that many celebrities kept this song as their ringtone. Also, this song was picked for performing in World Cricket Cup Opening ceremony in Dakka, Bangladesh. Way to go Vijay Anthony!
