Editor's Desk

How was your 2011?

Another year is rolling by. How did it go for you? Were you able to accomplish all your goals and resolutions? Don't feel bad about if you have not accomplished 100% of what you set out for. As communicated before (Dec 2010, Editor's desk) only 1 in 10 (or 12%) achieve 100% of their resolutions. Just carry over your incomplete tasks to the next year. But don't forget to publish your goals or have a detail action plan. By this way, you can increase the probability of accomplishing those next year.

It has been a tremendous year for theIndusNetwork. We raced towards half-a-million-shy hits for this year. Thank you for forwarding and recommending to your social network. Our goal is to educate, entertain and enrich you every month. Keep reading and sending us your feedback.

2011 saw the economy stuttering from continent to continent. Various countries have approved strict austerity measures to the dislike of common people. While governments are mulling over an increase in tax, the business is looking for ways to increase the price of services and products.

The social network is really gaining momentum as a virtual world. The social network were instrumental in "Arab Spring", "Occupy Wall Street" and helped in pushing back the debit card fees and DVD rental price increase. While there are good benefits with social network, there are also new problems with this features. An Australian mom was arrested this year trying to sell her kids on eBay and a Dutch women's You tube's video became viral when she uploaded a video containing her facebook friends tattooed to her hand. Read the Surfboard thought in this issue - There are no more secrets in your life - to understand the danger we are facing to our privacy.

2011 also had its share of natural disasters. A magnititude of 9 on Richter scale earthquake rocked Japan's coast with a worst Tsunami. US east coast experienced earth quake after more than 100 years. Glad it did not result in major disaster. However, Irene will stand out for threatening the entire east coast.

On the sports front, Japan won the Soccer world cup beating the #1 team - US. India won its cricket world cup after 23+ years. St. Louis Cardinals stunned the world by winning the World Series and Bruins took the Stanley cup after a see-saw battle. Formula 1 sports car race has now opened a shop in the most populous place - India. Appears to be a good business move!

Alien LEGO man?

"A giant man made with lego pieces washed ashore a Florida beach in October this year. The lego had a writing "No real than you are" which made everyone curious. Did this come from the sky? Is Lego is popular in other planets too? Or is this a marketing gimmick by Lego themselves?

LEGO group flatly refused any connection with the incident and the local sheriff's office rightly took the toy into their custoday.

The puzzle finally got resolved when they searched for the name "Ego Leonard" which was inscribed on its back. He is a Dutch artist and maintains a website to sell his products and he has been using this as a marketing plan to promote his products. This alien man also washed ashore in England and Holland.
